Working on "Heel" command off leash. I have introduced and paired the e collar to to be off leash trained.. Shadow understands his commands, as well as watching my body language to see what I am going to do next. I only use the e-collar with low pressure on and off if needs to be reminded of what to do.
This may seem like it is no big deal, but teaching Bella how to be comfortable with different sounds is huge to eliminate fear to noises and helps her with texture.
In this video this dog was leash reactive when passing by other dogs. We are setting up scenarios to teach him how to behave and have nice manners while walking pass other dogs.
Bella learning to not to guard her bone
Here we are teaching the client how to walk with both his dogs at the same time without pulling.
Luke learning to stay calm and wait before I instruct him to enter the vehicle
Testing the "Come" (Recall) command
Learning to focus on me. This is an important exercise to get your dog to focus on you no matter what is going on in the surroundings
Cori was having difficulty walking her two dogs without worrying they would get tangled up with each other, as well as not being able to control them well with individual leashes. I recommended the leash with the coupler for her. There is a swivel at the dogs collars and at handle. This leash and coupler also can be used as an individual leash. As you see it works out much better for all of them.
Working with the three dogs on place command. The dogs are to wait until I give the release word "Break"
When you want your dogs in control when someone comes to the door, you need to have a "place" for them to settle and stay calm. In this first this video you will see the dogs are on "place. As the door was opened the dogs are remaining on "place' as the door has been opened. The lawn guy came to the door, rang the doorbell. Before opening the door I placed the dogs on their place, told them to down and stay. I open the door and started talking to Kyle the lawn guy as the dogs remained on place.
Follow up from previous video. The dogs have remained on "place till they hear the release word.
Shadow and I are in a store. He is learning to block, standing behind me while I am checking out at the register to block a lady from getting to close to me. This exercise is used when people have PTSD, anxieties or other medical conditions. The dog helps keep distance from people away from your space.
Of course, it is not all work and no play. You want to let your dogs play and interact with them after a working session. It is a reward for all their hard work!
